National Recognition

CAEP Program Review Update

As of August 1, 2019, the International Literacy Association (ILA) will no longer participate as a specialty professional association (SPA) in the CAEP Program Review with National Recognition process.

Until the expiration date set by CAEP in the National Recognition Report, ILA will continue to acknowledge institutions that achieved National Recognition through the SPA Program Review with National Recognition as part of the CAEP accreditation process by spring 2019. These programs will be listed on the CAEP website.

If your state or institution requires CAEP program review, please visit CAEP Evidence Review of Standard One and the State Program Review.

If you have questions that are specific to your program that was previously submitted through the SPA Program Review or about the CAEP accreditation process, please contact CAEP at CAEPPrograms@caepnet.org.

If your institution's reading/literacy specialist program is aligned to Standards 2017 and you are interested in earning ILA National Recognition, please contact ilanationalrecognition@reading.org for more information on how to transition from the CAEP Program Review with National Recognition process to the ILA National Recognition process.

If you have any questions about submitting or renewing your program for ILA National Recognition, please email ilanationalrecognition@reading.org.
