Beverley E. Harris
2017–2020

Beverley E. Harris is a literacy specialist with 39 years of teaching experience. An adjunct lecturer at the Mico University College and the Open Campus, University of the West Indies, in Kingston, Jamaica, she is also a certified ESL teacher and professional development facilitator.

Beverley has served the Jamaica Reading Association in the roles of both president and professional development officer. She is a longtime member of IRA/ILA and helps grow the organization's presence in the Caribbean by promoting membership, contributing content, and hosting literacy webinars for educators and students within the region.

Beverley has developed reading programs for the Caribbean Centre of Excellence for Teacher Training and has supported families and early childhood teacher candidates through a project connecting literacy and health.
