Picture Books

In this session, ILA 30 Under 30 honoree Dylan Teut invites attendees to see picture books as opportunities to connect with students, encouraging them to celebrate themselves, respect others, and deepen a love of literature.

Be prepared to "make meaning" with Aeriale N. Johnson, who facilitates a session built around engaging students and driving deeper learning through children's literature.

Middle Grade

Insider or outsider? This is the question Anna G. Osborn poses as she leads a dynamic discussion among seven authors about their spirited characters and own experiences.

Young Adult

The Crazy Reading Ladies, Mary Cotillo and Erin O'Leary, facilitate a session focused on some of the most exciting authors working in a genre that attracts readers ages 9 to 90.

Equity Through Empathy

Part of the Equity in Education Program at ILA 2019, this session, led by Chad Everett and Tricia Ebarvia, connects literature for children of all ages to social-emotional learning and creating a more equitable classroom.
