Disrupting a Destructive Cycle: How Literacy Drives Social Change

Saturday, July 15, 2:00 PM–4:00 PM

We're partnering with Heinemann Publishing to stream this session live on Facebook. Click here to join the event.

Educators today find themselves having to confront complex social issues such as racially motivated violence and cultural intolerance. How do we begin to address the underlying anxiety and implicit bias that make these conversations necessary? What role can literacy play in creating more positive social outcomes? Investigative journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones will moderate a provocative discussion among a cross-sector of literacy leaders about these issues and more.
