Key Events

  • Institute Day is Thursday, October 10. Select from 10 interactive, full-day courses that allow you to take a deep dive into a literacy topic of interest with leaders in the field. Registration may be purchased separately or as part of the Conference Plus or Conference Complete discounted packages.
  • The Exhibit Hall will be open for a special preview on Thursday, October 10, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Take advantage of this opportunity to check out innovative products and services after you attend Institute Day or pick up your registration materials.
  • The Core Conference takes place on Friday, October 11, and Saturday, October 12. These two full days feature research-based and peer-reviewed sessions delivered in a variety of formats, including workshops, panels, poster sessions, and more.
  • Go behind the scenes of Mardi Gras with fellow attendees at Literacy Night at Mardi Gras World, where you'll explore floats from the famous parade and enjoy tasty Creole and Cajun cuisine, a live party band, tarot card readings, and more. Registration must be purchased separately.
  • Children's Literature Day is Sunday, October 13. Keynotes, author-focused programming, educator-driven sessions, and a plated lunch are included; an Author Meetup can be added for an additional fee. Space is limited; reserve your spot early. Registration may be purchased separately or as part of the Conference Plus or Conference Complete discounted packages.
