ILA Virtual Meeting Code of Conduct

ILA is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for our virtual events. All participants, including but not limited to attendees, speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, ILA staff members, and service providers, are expected to abide by this Code of Conduct. This Code of Conduct applies to all ILA events, including those sponsored by organizations other than ILA but held in conjunction with ILA events, on public or private platforms.

ILA has zero tolerance for any form of discrimination or harassment by participants or our staff at our events. If you experience harassment or hear of any incidents of unacceptable behavior, ILA asks that you inform safety@reading.org.

Unacceptable behavior is defined as the following:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form
  • Verbal abuse of any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, ILA staff member, service provider, or other guest, examples of which include, but are not limited to, verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, or national origin; inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in presentations; and threatening or stalking any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, ILA staff member, service provider, or other guest
  • Disruption of presentations during sessions, in the Exhibitor Showcase, or at other virtual gatherings organized by ILA throughout the event—all participants must comply with the instructions of moderators, facilitators, speakers, and ILA virtual event staff
  • Including promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcements, or solicitation for services in presentations, postings, and messages; ILA reserves the right to remove such messages and potentially ban sources of those solicitations

ILA reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal of a participant violating this Code of Conduct without warning or refund, in response to any incident of unacceptable behavior, and ILA reserves the right to prohibit attendance at any future event virtually or in person.
