Innovations in Assessing Multilingual Students for Dyslexia

Universal screenings for reading challenges and potential learning disabilities such as dyslexia are commonplace in schools, but are they equitable? In this webinar, Lillian Durán will delve into the recommended screening protocols and practices for multilingual learners in U.S. public schools and how traditional approaches do not fairly serve dyslexic or nondyslexic students. She’ll also explore innovative approaches to assessment as well as the nuanced decision making needed to account for home language exposure and the language of reading instruction.
