ILA OPPORTUNITIES

Digital Events – Upcoming Events Not to Miss

ILA Webinar: Using Research to Accelerate Decoding and Letter Instruction
October 13 | 5:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m. ET | $24.00

Heidi Anne Mesmer will highlight specific techniques that can be used to accelerate foundational skills instruction. Participants will learn which patterns to prioritize, which activities are both engaging and effective, and what time-consuming activities to avoid.

ILA Intensives: Rethinking Writing Instruction
November 3 & 4 | 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. ET | $99.00 each day

These two ILA Intensives—both hosted by Steve Graham, 2021 recipient of the ILA William S. Gray Citation of Merit—aim to challenge assumptions about what makes for good writing instruction and equip educators with the tools they need to implement effective and engaging classroom writing practices.

Chapter groups of five or more are eligible for a discount. For information, email chapters@reading.org.

HOW TO PROMOTE YOUR EVENT WITH ILA

ILA can help promote affiliate events. Here's how:

  • Chapters can request upcoming events to be posted on ILA's Meetings & Events page. Please submit events with the date and link. There must be a two-week minimum advance notice. ILA will approve submissions. Chapters can promote up to three meetings per year on the ILA calendar. Submit requests to chapters@reading.org.
  • ILA can share upcoming events on social media. When you post the event on your social platform, tag ILA using the appropriate handle, and we will share it!

Here are the ILA handles for the different social media platforms:
